I’m hard at work on my new book…a book about FOOD. Oh, does that sound boring? I hope I can spice it up a little. I’m passionate about eating right, eating to be healthy and vibrant and relevant.

Here’s an excerpt from chapter 1: WHY?

America….land of the free. Home of the brave. Founded on righteous principles. A leader of nations, a hope for the ages. We have been blessed with opportunities not dreamed of by the masses. We should be a happy, healthy, and hardy people. And yet, statistics and my own experience and observation say otherwise. Happiness is characterized by well-being and contentment. Americans professing to be happy is trending down. Our discontent and disconnect from one another have affected not only our well-being but also our relationships with each other. It’s a kind of Babel effect. We no longer speak the same language.

We are at odds in every conceivable way: religiously, politically, and socially. And, as we will explore, we are even at odds with our food.

Health is a combination of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. One indicator of healthy Americans is the number of pharmaceuticals we consume for physical and mental issues—70% of us take prescription drugs, 20% of us take five or more, and those numbers are trending up.

Our hardiness is obviously in peril. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, over 75% of us cannot meet the minimum Physical Activity Guidelines. Of course, there are many factors to achieving a happy, healthy, and hardy people, but I would like to put forth the idea that FOOD is a major contributor to all three. I have experienced it in my own body. I have witnessed it in my family, in my friends, and in society in general.

WOW… A Word of Wisdom For Healthy Living explores a diet put forth in the Scriptures. We’ll look into The Diet designed by God for mankind, WHY modern food no longer supports health, then take a peek at God’s Menu, Grandma’s Menu, and wind up with recipes that teach HOW to put healthy food in front of your family and friends.
